Super Eagles striker Akor Adams scored his first two goals for Sevilla against Schalke in a friendly, marking a positive step after a long recovery from injury.

Adams spent much of his seven-month tenure at the Nervión club dealing with injuries since his arrival during the winter transfer window.

BSNSports.com.ng sourced from Sevilla, as the Nigerian expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play again, stating, “I always thank God for being able to score. I've been waiting a long time for this.”

Looking ahead, Akor is cautiously managing his recovery: “I've trained in a controlled manner to avoid rushing back into injury. The medical team, the coach, and I will decide my playing time based on how I feel each week.”

Adams praised coach Matías Almeyda for his detailed approach and involvement in training, noting that the preseason has been intense both physically and mentally.

He appreciates Almeyda’s focus on player development, stating, “He wants me to grow, and it's been positive so far.”

Despite not being here last preseason, he recognizes the intensity of this year's training. Akor returned ahead of schedule to help the team, saying, “Getting injured was frustrating, but sacrificing a week of vacation to get fit was worth it.”
