Algeria and Morocco will fly Africa's flag at the 2026 International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Wheelchair Basketball World Championships scheduled to take place in Ottawa, Canada, later this year, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Algeria's women's national wheelchair basketball team has been drawn in a challenging Group B, where they will face formidable opponents including the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, and France as they bid to make an impact on the global stage.

Meanwhile, Morocco's men's team will compete in Group D alongside Germany, Iran, and hosts Canada in what promises to be a highly competitive group.

The participation of both North African nations underscores the growing development of wheelchair basketball across the African continent, with Algeria and Morocco aiming to showcase Africa's talent and competitiveness at one of the sport's biggest international events.

The 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships will bring together the world's top wheelchair basketball nations, with teams competing for global honours in Ottawa.
