Aliou Cisse Poised To Take Charge Of Libya
Sampson Adedeji
Former Senegal national team coach Aliou Cisse is set to be appointed as the new head coach of Libya’s Mediterranean Knights, according to BSNSports.com.ng. reports.
Cisse has been without a managerial role since leaving the Teranga Lions in 2024.
The Libya Football Federation has been searching for a new coach following the team's disappointing performance in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The 49-year-old has been in Libya for the past few days for negotiations and even attended a legends match on Friday.
Cisse previously guided Senegal to their first-ever AFCON title in 2021 in Cameroon.
