By Niyi Busari

Lobi Stars U17 Youth team are the only one with six maximum points from two matches at the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) U17 Youth League across five centers, BSN sports.com.ng can report.

Lobi Stars came from behind twice on Matchday One to beat Kwara United youth team 3-2 before a hard earned 1-0 against Plateau United on Friday.

Tipped as the best center, the North Central venue at the Lafia City stadium in Nasarawa state hosts teams with good football artistry and attacking prowess. The four teams are: Kwara United, Lobi Stars, Niger Tornadoes and Plateau United.

Speaking on the quality of the players in the group B, ex-international and Chairman Lobi Stars FC, Dominic Iorfa said watching the two matches on Friday, he was confident that if Nigeria should select the U17 national from the four clubs, they will form a formidable team capable of winning trophy for the country.

"With what I watched here today, there's no doubt that we have abundant talents in Nigeria. With the crop of players from this center, NFF can pick players that will represent and win trophy for Nigeria. They're good enough to achieve that.

He added, "I hope to see some of the players in Lobi Stars colour playing for the main team in the next two years."

Also speaking, the Chairman of Benue Football Association who doubles as the Coordinator, NPFL U17 Youth League, North Central, Barrister Paul Edeh showered praises on the organisers, the NFF and the NPFL. He encouraged the NFF and the NPFL to organize more grassroots competitions to discover talents for various national teams.

The top team from each center will qualify for the playoff where the champions will emerge.
