All NPFL Clubs Must Have Junior Teams This Season - Elegbeleye

In its determination, passion, and effort to have a better 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the organizer of the league said all the twenty Nigeria Premier Football League clubs must have Feeders team, BSN sports com.ng reports.

The Chairman of NPFL, Gbenga Elegbeleye, also stated that that at least 8 out of 10 of each day matches will be streamed live by the Propel Sports Africa (PSA) as 100 countries of the world set to watch Nigeria league.

The Chairman board of the League, Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye, stated this shortly after the draws for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on Tuesday in Abuja as the league set to kick off September 9th across the country.

Speaking on the plan for the league, Former chairman of National Sports Commission said, “We hope to improve on what we did last season, we are bringing a new model into the season by playing the junior league, every clubs are expected to have under 17 teams and we have promised to showcase the best talent we have the feeders’ team will be playing their league this season at the zones and winner of each zone will come to play the playoff to determine the final.

“We want to improve on the support we gave to referees last season, we still want to maintain the 100 million naira we gave to the winner last year, that is the minimum we can give we may increase it this season.”

Talking about streaming live he said that the league organizer has an agreement with propel league Africa to stream live 8 out of the 10 matches in the match day 1 of the league, so all 8 matches will be watched live on your phones and that is what is going to happen in 100 countries so that Nigeria in diaspora can watch NPFL every match day at least 8 matches per day.

The NPFL has signed an agreement with Propel Sports Africa (PSA) on broadcast streaming of matches. He said PSA for a start has deployed its cameras to ten match venues which cover every geo-political zone in the country.

“It gladdens my heart to again harp on the broadcast streaming deal with Propel Sports Africa which as of today, has deployed cameras to ten venues as a start-up. They plan to have a camera in each Stadium in the long run while we work out modalities to move cameras from one location to the nearest. So far the AI Cameras have been deployed, installed, and tested in Lagos, Ibadan, Benin, Uyo, and Aba. Other locations are Ilorin, Jos, Gombe, Katsina, and Kano. The distribution covers the geographical zones. In the days ahead, there will be a big announcement coming on the Broadcast Streaming deal.

Elegbeleye also acknowledged the tremendous support the league has received from its partners, GTI Assets Management. He said NPFL will be counting on the mutually beneficial relationship to grow the financial base of the league.

Meanwhile, The draws for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season have been conducted. The draws were held in Abuja on Tuesday.

The league scheduled to commence on Saturday, September 9, 2023, will see nine-time league champions Enyimba International of Aba will host Bendel Insurance in what has been dubbed as the star game of Match Day One.
