A competitive Group A
Group A brings together hosts Morocco, Libya, Zambia and Algeria in what promises to be a highly competitive section.
Morocco enter the tournament as defending champions and hosts, giving them the advantage of familiar surroundings as they look to retain the title. Libya and Algeria are also experienced North African futsal nations, while Zambia will provide a strong southern African challenge.
The group could therefore produce closely fought matches, with every point potentially crucial in determining which teams advance to the knockout stage.
Egypt headline Group B
Egypt will be among the teams to watch in Group B, where they will face Angola, Mozambique and Tanzania.
The Egyptians have traditionally been one of Africa’s strongest futsal nations and will be expected to mount a serious challenge for the trophy. Angola also qualified among the continent’s leading sides, while Mozambique and Tanzania add further depth and regional diversity to the group.
Eight teams, one continental crown
The eight-team final tournament consists of hosts Morocco and seven nations that secured qualification through the preliminary rounds.
CAF's qualification process involved two-legged ties, with the seven winners joining Morocco in the finals. Egypt, Libya, Angola, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique and Algeria emerged from the qualification process to complete the field.
The competition will provide another important platform for the development of futsal in Africa, as national teams compete not only for continental honours but also for greater recognition of the fast-growing indoor version of the sport.
With the groups now determined, attention will turn to preparations, match schedules and the race for a place in the knockout stages.
