The organisers of the Wanda Diamond League have officially released the final standings for this year’s series, with Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan and Favour Ofili booking their places in the prestigious season finale at the Weltklasse Meeting in Zurich next weekend, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ofili, who only joined the circuit from the ninth stop of the 15-leg series, did just enough to qualify for the women’s 200m final, finishing eighth overall with 13 points.

The 21-year-old is now chasing history as she looks to become only the second Nigerian, after Amusan, to win a Diamond League trophy.

For Amusan, qualification was never in doubt. The reigning 100m hurdles queen finished fifth in Lausanne with a time of 12.82 seconds but still accumulated 27 points to place second in the overall standings, behind Grace Stark of the USA, who leads with 35 points.

Zurich will be a familiar ground for Amusan, as it was there she claimed her first two Diamond League titles.

She will now be aiming for a fourth crown, having secured her third in Eugene the same venue where she won the world championship and set a world record in 2022.
