Amusan Sets Season’s Best, Finishes Third At Diamond League

Nigerian sprint hurdler Tobi Amusan produced a solid performance on the international stage, clocking a season’s best time of 12.41 seconds to claim bronze in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League meeting, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The race was dominated by the United States’ Masai Russell, who stormed to victory with a blistering 12.25 seconds a new meet record and the fastest time in the world this season. 

Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton took second place, setting a new national record of 12.38 seconds.

Amusan’s third-place finish and improved timing mark encouraging progress for the Commonwealth Games champion. 

The result underscores her continued presence among the world’s top hurdlers as she sharpens her form ahead of major championships later in the season.

Widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished track athletes, Amusan has been working her way back to peak condition after a challenging period. 

Her 12.41 seconds effort on Saturday represents her quickest outing of the 2026 campaign so far and offers positive signals for the remainder of the outdoor season.
