Anthony Joshua Pockets $10m For Beating Otto Wallin

British boxer, Anthony Joshua got at least $10m for winning his bout again Swiss boxer, Otto Wallin on Saturday night.

In the pick of the bunch, Anthony Joshua ended 2023 with an impressive victory against Swiss, Otto Wallin after heavyweight rival Deontay Wilder had suffered a shock defeat to Joseph Parker.

Joshua’s showdown with Wallin came on the same card as Wilder vs Joseph Parker, with the expectation being that AJ and ‘The Bronze Bomber’ would fight sometime next year.

Parker scuppered these plans, however, as he outboxed Wilder and beat the American by unanimous decision.

Joshua’s bout followed but another surprise defeat never looked likely, as he looked focused from the start and produced an impressive performance to completely shut down Wallin.

Beyond the bloodied noses and pains of defeats, these boxers ended the night with a hefty payday.

As per Spanish Newspaper, Marca, Joshua could have pocketed between $10 and $12 million for his participation.

His opponent, Wallin will make considerably less at around $1 million but this is still over three times more than his $200k deal for fighting Tyson Fury.

There is an additional purse for the winner of the bout, though this exact amount is not yet known. However, it is expected that the final deal will include a portion of the gate and PPV sales, which will not be known until many weeks after the event. So there could be a huge bonus to the fighters in the New Year.

Surprisingly, there is no official information regarding Deontay Wilder’s expected payout for his loss to Joseph Parker. It is however believed the “Bronze Bomber” wouldn’t make a little less than AJ who pocketed between $10 and $12 million.
