Aribo, Bassey Named In Scottish Premier League Team Of The Season

Super Eagles duo of Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey are among the eleven players in the official Team of the Season by the Scottish Premiership.

The Nigeria duo played key roles for Rangers’ that resulted in winning the Scottish Cup and also made it to the final of the UEFA Europa League.

The Gers however surrendered the league title to rivals Celtic.

Aribo showed his versatility during the 2021/22 season by putting in strong performances as a box-to-box midfielder, right winger, and false nine.

The 25-year-old scored in Rangers’ Europa League final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt last month.

Bassey, who was named Rangers’ Young Player of the Season also enjoyed a remarkable season under manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The 22-year-old slotted perfectly into the centre-back position following an injury crisis in the team early this year.

Rangers captain, James Tavernier was also included in the selection.
