Aribo Laments Poor Season With Southampton

Nigeria international Joe Aribo has lamented having a poor season with the English side Southampton last season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The skilful midfielder joined the Saints last summer after having a splendid outing with Scottish giant Glasgow Rangers but the consistent change of manager at the club affected his performance.

The Saints defeated Readings 4-2 on Saturday in a preseason game and Aribo was among the goal scorers.

Aribo said he has the ambition of helping the club last season but it was never meant to be and also agreed that last season was about learning for him.

" For me, very frustrating. It was tough because you want to do so well for yourself, you know. I had a new challenge and I wanted to hit the ground running.

"And obviously, I had all of these goals and what I wanted to do, also to help the team. 

But I didn't feel I got the chance to do that and it was really frustrating. It was a season of learning", he said.
