Arrested Senegalese Fans Appear In Moroccan Court

Arrested Senegalese fans involved in crowd disturbances during the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have appeared before a Moroccan court for the first time, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

 A total of 18 Senegalese supporters were arrested last Sunday following incidents of misconduct and vandalism during the tournament’s final match, which was held in Morocco.

Security officials reportedly intervened after sections of the crowd engaged in unruly behaviour that led to damage within and around the stadium.

The fans were paraded before the court on Thursday as legal proceedings formally commenced. Details of the charges brought against them were not fully disclosed at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is yet to issue an official statement regarding the incidents or clarify the possible sanctions, if any, that may arise from the unrest.

The fate of the arrested supporters remains uncertain as investigations continue. Further updates are expected as both Moroccan authorities and CAF address the situation surrounding the unfortunate scenes that marred the final of Africa’s biggest football tournament.
