Asaba To Host NNL Super 8 From July 5-12
Ibrahim Lateef BSNSports.com.ng can confirm that Warri Wolves, Osun United, Kun Khalifa FC, Wikki Tourists and four others chase their NPFL promotion dreams in Asaba, as the Nigeria National League (NNL) has picked the Delta State capital as venue for the Super 8, which will kick off from July 5 to July 8, 2025.
The teams that qualified for the Super 8 are Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, Kun Khalifa FC of Owerri, Wikki Tourists, Yobe Desert Stars, Doma FC, and Barau FC.
According to a statement from the league, Delta State Governor Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the hosting of the Super 8, recognizing the progress made by this vital league.
The event will be held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba and will determine the eventual league winner as well as the four teams that will be promoted to the elite league.
“We are pleased to announce that the sports-loving Governor of Delta State, Hon. Oborevwori, has approved the hosting of the NNL Super 8 in Asaba. We are grateful for this generous gesture, which will further establish Delta State as a leading sporting state in the country,” the statement read.
“Thanks to this support, we are prepared to successfully complete the 2024/2025 season and identify the best teams that will compete in the top flight next season,” it continued.
Meanwhile, NNL Chairman Mr. George Aluo has assured football fans that there will be no dull moments throughout the Super 8. He emphasized that spectators can expect to witness outstanding football artistry, as all eight qualified teams have the potential to earn promotion to the NPFL next season.
Aluo also promised that the league board, in collaboration with the host state, will ensure that all logistics are in place for a successful tournament.
