By Gbenga Gboyega

Asisat Oshoala, 28 years old, is now the only African and Nigerian Woman player to win two European Cup titles, BSNSports com.ng can report.

The Ikorodu-born forward continues to stock her trophy-laden cabinet with laurels each season, since making her debut to the footballing scene 14 years ago.

A two-time Nigeria Women's Football League Champion with Rivers United on home soil, an FA Cup title winner with Arsenal FC, a three-time Primera División champion with FC Barça Feminí, not forgetting the African Women's Championship triumph with the Super Falcons, already paint a picture of an African legend in Women's football.

Asisat also holds Continental prestige as the only Women's player with five African Player of the year awards, while establishing her prolific talents with four golden boot awards, and a BBC player of the year honour.

Although Asisat missed today's final due to injury concerns, her participation in the competition cannot be sidelined, noting her constant threat in front of the goal, eventually scoring five times while assisting three more in ten UEFA Women's Champions League games this season.

Barcelona Feminí came from two goals down against Wolfsburg to clinch their second European Cup title in two years, having previously defeated Chelsea in one, and lost in two other finals against Lyon, making it four finals in five years for the Spanish giants.

The accolades keep coming for Asisat Oshoala, as her attention will now shift to country duties with the FIFA Women's World Cup for 2023 already around the corner.
