Atalanta Director Reaffirms Lookman’s Value Amid Uncertain Future

Atalanta sporting director Luca Percassi has reiterated the importance of Nigeria international Ademola Lookman to the Serie A club, despite speculation over the winger’s future, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Lookman, who was heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan during the summer, reportedly submitted a transfer request and briefly stopped training as he sought a switch.

However, no deal materialised, and the 26-year-old remains under contract with La Dea until 2027.

The Super Eagles star has yet to feature in a competitive match this season, prompting questions about his status within the squad. Speaking to DAZN, Percassi stressed that the club still values Lookman highly but expects total commitment from its players.

“We know how important Lookman is to Atalanta,” Percassi said.

“But the club has basic principles: players must be ready to give 100% for this shirt and stay focused on our goals, because every game is difficult.”

Lookman’s future remains unresolved, yet Atalanta insist he continues to be part of their plans—provided he demonstrates full dedication to the team’s ambitions.
