Nigeria's rising athletics star, Jared Ejiasan, has made the decision to switch his international allegiance from Nigeria to France, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian-born teenager, who moved to France at the age of one, is currently in the process of obtaining French citizenship. 

Ejiasan, who has long been regarded as a talent to watch, made his intentions clear by stating, "My goal is the French national team."

This move marks a significant moment for Nigerian athletics, as the country loses a promising young talent to France. 

Ejiasan's switch comes as part of a broader trend where athletes with dual heritage opt to represent their country of residence, in this case, France.
