The Nigeria National League (NNL) board presented an audited financial report to its congress in Bauchi last week, marking the first time they have done so, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

This move has been praised by stakeholders and is seen as a significant step forward in the league's financial management. Mr. George Aluo, the Chairman of the NNL Board, emphasized the importance of transparency and openness by auditing the books and making the report available to Congress. “We need to gain public confidence in all we do, especially in the area of finance,” he said. A partner in the Audit firm, Vincent Akinbami, who, aside from being a chartered accountant, worked with clubs like Ranchers Bees and Osun United in the past, says an 18-month audited account was prepared to have a stable accounting year that runs from July of a particular year to June of the following year. Akinbami also commended the NNL management for setting a positive example that others should follow.
