Awaziem Seals Maximum Points For Hajduk Split

Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem was the hero on Sunday in a Croatian league game involving his club Hajduk Split against HNK Rijeka, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Awaziem joined the Croatian club this summer on loan from the Portuguese Primera Liga side Boavista.

Former FC Nantes of France player was part of the Super Eagles team to Algeria for an international friendly but returned on time to make his club starting lineup.

He was cautioned for a foul play in the 15th minute but he didn't allow that to weigh him down.

After a goalless first half, Awaziem netted the only goal of the game in the 51st minute after Rijeka's goalkeeper and defence reacted clumsily after a cross from the right side, the ball bounced to Mikanović who found Awaziem to slot home the ball.

Awaziem has now scored 2 goals in 7 appearances for Hajduk Split.
