Nottingham Forest significantly strengthened their Premier League survival bid with an emphatic 3–1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday, dealing a serious blow to the hosts’ hopes of securing European football next season.

The visitors made a blistering start, taking the lead within two minutes as Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi marked his 100th appearance for the club with a well-placed header.

Forest quickly doubled their advantage when Igor Jesus calmly converted from the penalty spot, putting Chelsea on the back foot early in the contest. The home side had a chance to respond before halftime, but Cole Palmer failed to capitalize from the spot, missing a crucial penalty that could have shifted the momentum.
