Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi finally ended his goal drought after 324 days, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
Awoniyi scored his first goal since February 2024 during Nottingham Forest's match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he netted the team's third goal of the night.
This goal came after a long spell plagued by injuries.
Nottingham Forest displayed impressive game management at the Molineux on Monday night, allowing them to control the remainder of the match with relative ease.
They even added a third goal deep into stoppage time, with substitutes James Ward-Prowse and Awoniyi combining to allow the Nigerian to tap the ball into an empty net.
The goal was much needed, evident from the excitement of both his teammates and the coach.
This victory marked the sixth consecutive win for the Tricky Trees, bringing them to a total of 40 points, tying them with second-placed Arsenal, although they trail on goal difference.
