By Admin
Enyimba FC have officially named former Crown FC boss Deji Ayeni as their new head coach, with the seasoned tactician assuming duties on Friday in Aba, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Ayeni’s arrival comes at a critical moment for the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions, who are seeking stability after a challenging run of results. He is expected to take charge of Sunday’s high-stakes home fixture against Rangers, a match viewed as pivotal to the club’s short-term direction.
The Ilesa-born coach brings extensive top-flight experience, having previously delivered impressive spells at Sunshine Stars and Akwa United. He joined Crown FC on 28 August 2024 with a mandate to secure promotion from the Nigeria National League, but Enyimba have now handed him a more demanding assignment at the elite level.
Ayeni’s immediate objective will be to steady the squad and engineer a swift upturn in form. Supporters of the People’s Elephant will be hopeful that his tactical acumen and leadership can spark a resurgence as the club targets a return to its traditional winning standards.
