Ahead of their crucial Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2026 Sahara Conference clash against Club Africain this weekend, Maktown Flyers star Jawad Adekoya has outlined what the Nigerian champions must improve on to secure a positive result, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Maktown Flyers have recorded one win and two defeats in their opening three games of the competition and are now determined to bounce back against the Tunisian side.

Speaking after their defeat to Al Ahly, Adekoya stressed the need for the team to improve defensively while maintaining the fighting spirit they showed in the previous game.

“We need to tidy up a few things on defence.

The offence may have faltered slightly in the fourth quarter against Al Ahly, but I feel like we showed great grit in this game, and we need to carry that over,” he said.

“We need to put this loss behind us and focus on Club Africain on Saturday.”

Adekoya has been one of the standout performers for Maktown Flyers in the tournament, scoring 40 points so far, with 24 of those coming from beyond the arc.

The sharpshooter is expected to play a key role as Maktown Flyers attempt to end Club Africain’s perfect run in the Sahara Conference.
