Badminton: Opeyori Hails Fans Support After Paris Olympics Exit

Precious Oham

Nigeria's Anuoluwapo Juwon Opeyori has hailed fans who stood by him at the Paris Olympics where he represented Nigeria in the Badminton event, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Following his exit from the Paris Olympics, Opeyori said that he has showcased what Africa can do in the game of Badminton.

"Thank you, guys, again, for all the support. We showed what Africa has to offer the sport of Badminton."

Opeyori went out hard against China's Li Shi Feng in his second Group match in the Men's Singles Badminton event.

Opeyori might have lost by 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) to the World number 6, but the score-line does not tell the whole story of how he fought for every single point in the match.

This was his second defeat at the Paris Olympics as he exited the Olympics, playing very good matches against higher-ranked opponents.
