Balogun Criticizes Ex-Players For Attacking Current Super Eagles Team

Leon Balogun, a key defender for Nigeria's Super Eagles and Rangers, has responded to former players who frequently criticize the current national team.
Speaking to Brila FM, the towering defender emphasized that ex-players should not be the ones to publicly criticize the team if the players are struggling.
"No player steps onto the pitch to playing poorly, but sometimes it happens, and it's not a pleasant experience," Balogun said.
"Players are aware of this, and we manage to move forward, but we shouldn't have to face such scrutiny at this level."
Balogun also pointed out that the criticism doesn't only come from fans or the media, but sometimes from former professionals as well.
"You should know better," he said. "You've been in that position before, and you understand the pressure players are under."
He continued, "When ex-players publicly attack current players, it shows a lack of empathy and understanding. It's one thing to critique a player's performance, but when it turns personal, it's unnecessary."
