Bassey Ready To Work, Relish Premier League Experience With Fulham

Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey says it's time to work as he gets ready to make his Premier League debut with Fulham when the season kicks of in August, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Bassey finalised his transfer to the English Premier League from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam.
Ajax officially confirmed that they agreed a transfer fee of € 22.5 million with Fulham as the London-based side reinforced its defence ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Bassey holds the record for the most expensive Nigerian defender in history, overtaking Super Eagles legend Taribo West, when he moved to Ajax for a guaranteed fee of €23 million in July 2022.
The 23-year-old defender has agreed a contract until 2027, with a Fulham option to extend by a further 12 months and he will wear the number three shirt this season.
Bassey told FFCTV he is looking forward to getting to work and helping the team build on from a positive season after signing for thr Whites on Friday.
"It's nice to be at Fulham even though it took a bit time to get over the line but now its times to work and get ready for the new Premier League season.
It's peaceful for me now after the tranafer, as the media and football these days seems to get out, I now need to focus on football and build on from last season.
"Am strong, pacy, I can defend, I like to play with the ball and am confident.
"I joined Fulham because it's a London club, always a place to go, family will get to see games and off course I know how big the club is, I have played against some of the boys back then in the academy. And they always have quality players.
"Even though he didn't get to play in the Premier League while with Leicester City, the Nigerian is ready to take his chance to experince the EPL with Fulham.
"What player doesn't want to play in the Premier League, it's an amazing league and I get to be home doing it infront of my family.
"I grew up in East London and all my family live there."
