Bauchi To Hosts Grassroots Basketball Tournament

All is now set for the 4th edition of the BeHappy Basketball tournament in Bauchi State for local basketball teams in the country, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The tournament will feature 13 teams, including Yankari Kings Bauchi, Abba Gida Basketball Club Kano, Be Happy Stars Bauchi, Maktown Flyers Benue, Suns Basketball Academy Jos, Joe Gees Basketball Club Jos.

Others include Elite Basketball Club Wukari Taraba State, Gamji Basketball Club Maiduguri, Adamawa Stars Yola, Katsina United Basketball Club, Taraba Hurricanes, the Clubs Basketball Team Bauchi, D-Block Kaduna and Razor Black Basketball Club. 

The main sponsor of the tournament, Alhaji Danjuma Suleman Wunti said the basketball tournament stands out from others due to its mission of developing basketball at the grassroots level.

He noted that the BeHappy Basketball tournament will allow the local teams to showcase their talents adding that the tournament will contribute significantly to the growth and development of basketball in Bauchi State and Nigeria in general.

On his part, co-sponsor of the tournament from Six Towers Construction, Bashir Isa, said that he is supporting the competition as a means of giving back to society towards providing a platform for the next generation to showcase their talents.

The eagerly-anticipated basketball tournament is expected to be held between 15th and 19th January 2025 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.

The 13 teams have been divided into 2 groups. Games will be played in a round-robin format, and the top two teams will advance to the semis on Saturday, January 18th, while the third place and final will be played on Sunday.
