Nigeria Women Football League NWFL Champions Bayelsa Queens FC of Yenagoa will on Sunday begin the Battle to clinch the sole ticket to represent WAFU Zone B at the 2022 Women CAF Champions League in Morocco later this year.
The Prosperity Girls will start their Group game against Togolese Champions Athleta FC on Sunday at 6pm local time. They will later tackle the Ghanaian Champions, Apem Daakoa FC on Tuesday at 4pm.
The Yenagoa based side will wrap up the group stage match on Saturday 27th August when they play USFA of Burkina Faso also 4pm.
Technical Adviser of Bayelsa Queens FC Domo Anthony Okara speaking from Yamoussoukro stated that the team is adequately prepared for the task ahead and promised that the girls are ready to make both Bayelsa State and Nigeria proud.
The former Dolphins of Port Harcourt midfield kingpin thanked the Governor Douye Diri led Government and the Board of Bayelsa Queens FC for the massive support given to the team since their arrival in Cote D'Ivoire and calls for the prayers of all Nigerians to succeed in the task ahead.
The Yenagoa based side has a formidable set of players in Yamoussoukro ably lead by experienced defender and captain Uzoamaka Igwe as well as Cameroonian Indomitable Lionesses Goalkeeper Bawou Ange Gabrielle to prosecute the job.
