Bayelsa Queens release Charity Reuben, Salisu Anuoluwapo

Former Falconets duo of Charity Reuben and Salisu Anuoluwapo are among players released by Nigerian Women Football League club Bayelsa Queens, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Prosperity Girls who lost their NWFL crown to Delta Queens but capped their impressive season by winning the women's FA Cup on Wednesday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, broke the news via an official statement at the weekend, before embarking on a three-week break.

Bayelsa Queens Football Club has released its retained players list ahead of the 2023/24 season, with some players leaving the club upon the expiration of their contracts.

Charity Reuben and Salisu Anuoluwapo are the two headline names to be leaving Bayelsa Queens FC at the end of this season.

According to the Chairman Bayelsa Queens Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, the players retained are based on merit and the Prosperity Girls want to come back better next season.

He also thanked the players going for their dedication to duty during their time with the club and wished them well wherever they go in search of greener pastures.

The retained players are Okeke Oyinyechukwu, Monle Omini, Edet Glory, Blessing Ilivieda, Alake Kasali, Igwe Uzoamaka, Angela Michael, Miracle Joseph, Flourish Sabastine, Mercy Itimi, Aderemi Mary, Favour Emmanuel.

Other retained players are Zainab Olapade, Touta Evanick, Natasha Witika, Etim Edidiong, Anjor Mary, Igboamalu Chinyere, Uduakobong Peter, Moshood Shakirat, Otega Emmanuel, Jallow Isatou, Penda Bah, Matty Manga, Perpetual Agyekum, Dagogo Favour, Veronika Appiah, and Ekong Rose.

Apreala, further said the break became necessary after a hectic season for the girls and that they need to be with their loved ones and family members and added that they need the break so that they will come back refreshed with new vigor and vitality for the new season.

The team is expected to resume on the 21st of July, 2023.
