Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director Hail Super Eagles Midfielder

By Sampson Adedeji

The Sporting Director of the German Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen Simon Rolfes has hailed Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Nathan Tella, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Tella joined the German side last summer after helping Burnley back into the English Premier League while playing on loan from Southampton.

The Saints finally agreed to sell the Nigerian International Leverkusen and despite arriving at the club late, Tella was able to contribute his quota to the club's league triumph.

"Nathan Tella came late in the transfer window in August and he needed time to adapt. He was always ambitious to develop himself and also to give good energy to the team and towards the team,” Rolfes told TalkSport.

" Now he’s getting much more minutes than at the beginning of the season. That’s also a success story for himself and also for the team.”

Tella has scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions for Die Werkself this season.
