Senegal continued their dominance on the Beach in Africa as they claimed the 2024 Beach African Cup of Nations in Egypt, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After struggling in the early part of the competition, Senegal recovered in time to reach the final and set up a clash with debutants Mauritania.

Mauritania was the surprise package of the competition after they edged out Nigeria's Sand Eagles during the qualifier.

They were able to prove their mettle in the competition proper by reaching the final.

But the Senegalese proved too much to handle for them in the final as they suffered a 6-1 defeat.

Senegal has now won the competition for a record 8 times.

Despite the defeat, Mauritania will follow Senegal to the World Cup in Seychelles as Africa's representative.
