Obayemi Ogunshina, Simon Hilary and six others will represent Nigeria at the forthcoming African Nations Beach Volleyball Championship in Agadir, Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports .
The contingents jet out on Sunday for the African Beach Volleyball Championship scheduled for July 25 to August 2.
The men’s team consist of Obayemi Ogunshina, Simon Hilary, Emenike Ezike and Uchenna Augustine, while the women’s team consist of Albertina Francis, Happiness Wushilang, Esther Mbah and Rafiat Mustapha.
The team will be accompanied by head coach, Kayode Ajilore, and the Chairman of Nigeria Volleyball Referees Association, Sam Timothy.
The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod, said that the team had prepared well and look forward to a positive outing.
Nimrod said: “We pray for success and victory, but we will not say we will win.
“The most important thing is to prepare the prayers.
“The success is that we are building a new team.â€
Speaking further, he said that many countries are wary of Nigeria because they dread the country’s underaged teams.
“Even FIVB recognises Nigeria that we are very strong in under age teams,†he submitted.
