Beach Volleyball: Ogunshina, Hilary, 6 others for 2022 African Championship

Obayemi Ogunshina, Simon Hilary and 6 others will represent Nigeria at the forthcoming African Nations Beach Volleyball Championship in Agadir, Morocco.  

The contingents arrived on Monday for the African Beach Volleyball Championship scheduled for 25th July to 2nd August.

The men's team consist of Obayemi Ogunshina, Simon Hilary, Emenike Ezike and Uchenna Augustine while the women's team consist of Albertina Francis, Happiness Wushilang, Esther Mbah and Rafiat Mustapha.

The team will be accompanied by head coach, Kayode Ajilore and the Chairman of Nigeria Volleyball Referees Association, Sam Timothy.

Coach of the National beach volleyball team, Kayode Ajilore told newsmen that the team will excel at the African Beach Volleyball Championship.

He revealed that the boys have been in closed camp for two weeks adding that the players are physically and mentally ready.

The former National player said, "I have confidence in the ability of the team. Most of the athletes have been busy from the first quarter of the year and the introduction of the National Beach Volleyball Tour is an addition.

Meanwhile, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod said that the team have prepared well and look forward to a positive outing.

“We pray for success and victory, but we will not say we will win. The most important thing is to prepare the prayers. The success is that we are building a new team.

“Even FIVB recognizes NIgeria that we are very strong in under age teams,” he said.
