Ben Akwuegbu Targets League Triumph With Plateau United

Plateau United Consultant, Benedict Akwuegbu has set sights on winning the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, with the side ahead of the upcoming season, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Speaking during a monitored radio program, the Ex-International expressed optimism that the club is capable of bringing the NPFL trophy to Jos in the 2025/26 season. 

According to him, proper preparations and recruitment of top stars will help the team to attain greater heights in the upcoming campaign while identifying the issue of conceding late goals as the bane of the team in the just concluded season. 

His words: "Plateau United deserves to be among the top three clubs in the country. If we do our things right, we can even win the title. Let us focus on winning the league this season and I think Plateau United can do it with the coach and General Manager. 

"I am optimistic that this season we will begin to make our team stronger. Let this season be the season we will bring the title to the state. We have everything to win the league. 

"We conceded goals in the last minutes and we have to try and stop it. We conceded goals in three to five games in the second half in the last minutes. We have to bring this title to Jos and we need to bring more quality players and top players."
