Bendel Insurance Equal NPFL Unbeaten Record

Bendel Insurance of Benin have equaled a two-year standing record for the longest unbeaten run in NPFL's history, following a 1-all draw away from home to Nasarawa United bsnsports.com.ng reports. 

The NNL champions gained promotion to the peak of Nigeria's League system to participate in the 2023 Abridged NPFL campaign, after finishing their 2022 National League run in style with three wins and a draw in their final four games.

The run continued into the new year and in a different terrain beginning with the away match to Akwa United on MatchDay 1 in the NPFL, which ended in Bendel's first win in the League following a 1-2 scoreline.

Eight wins and ten draws summed up eighteen league games without defeat for the Group A leaders going into the Super Six round slated for next month. The feat sees the Benin Arsenal equal Akwa United's 2022 record of eighteen league games without a loss in 2020.

One more game in the Super Six without defeat will see Bendel Insurance own the record with nineteen games, with the avenue to extend such run till the elusive defeat comes.

However, head coach of the side Monday Odigie will not allow the pressure for setting a record deter the team's focus in winning the ultimate prize by going the distance in the Super Six playoff come June 3rd.
