Bendel Insurance Get Exiguous N15m As Federation Cup Champions

The 2023 Federation Cup champions, Bendel Insurance will get Fifteen Million naira (N15m) as cash prize for winning the oldest Nigeria competition trophy, BSNSports.com.ng can authoritatively report.

The Benin Arsenal's top striker, Imade Osarenkhoe on Wednesday night scored the only goal of the final match played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State. Imade hit the back of the net from the spot following a deserved penalty kick awarded them against Rangers' Ugwueze Chinemerem whose hand stopped Insurance goal bound shot from Sodje Stephens in the 45th minute.

Bendel Insurance who lost only two games this season last won silverware 28 years ago and have now won the Federation Cup for the fourth times. The Benin Arsenal have won the title in 1972, 1978, 1980 and now 2023. 

However, the team will get exiguous Fifteen Million naira (N15m) from this season's Federation Cup sponsor Tingo.
