Benin, Gambia Storm Asaba For Warri Grand Prix

Ahead of the 2023 Warri Grand Prix, the Benin Republic and Gambia athletes have arrived in Asaba, Delta State, venue of the event, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This year's event is being held as a tribute to the former Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Sports In Africa (SCSA), the late Dr Awoture Eleyae who passed away last week.

The event will also afford the Team Nigeria men's 4x100 relay team another opportunity to secure their spot in the upcoming World Athletics championship in Budapest.

The Nigerian side failed to qualify for the championship in Ghana, Yaba Technology and Benin Republic.

The race in Warri is a three-in-one event, with 5 countries competing in the 4x100m, 4x400m and mixed relays.
