By Niyi Busari
Cheetahs of Benin Republic head coach, Gernot Rohr has received 18 players in camp ahead of their 2025 African Nations Cup qualifier against Nigeria in Abidjan, BSNSports.com.ng reports .
The West African neighbours will host the three times African champions on Thursday in the matchday 5 fixture of the qualifier.
Ten players hit the camp on Sunday, while another eight led by captain Steve Mounie, Jodel Dossou and David Kiki arrived on Monday.
Coach Gernot Rohr invited 25 players for this make-or-break clash against Nigeria.
Benin are second in Group D with six points, but they cannot afford to slip because they are being chased by third-placed Rwanda, who have garnered five points and will face already eliminated Libya on Thursday.
In June, the Cheetahs recorded a famous 2-1 win in Abidjan against the star-studded Super Eagles in a 2026 World Cup qualifying match.
The Cheetahs are confident as they have won their two home games in the AFCON qualifiers against Libya and Rwanda in Abidjan.
