 Benin Resume Camp For Flamingos Clash, 30 Players Invited

Benin's U-17 women's national team, the Amazons, have intensified preparations ahead of their crucial final-round clash against Nigeria's Flamingos in the qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports

The Beninese side resumed camping at the Missérété Excellence Centre as they gear up for the decisive two-legged encounter against the seven-time African champions from Nigeria.

Head coach Idah Azonsou has invited approximately 30 players to camp as the team begins intensive training sessions aimed at securing a place at the global tournament.

The first leg of the qualifier is scheduled to take place between July 3 and July 5, while the return fixture will be played from July 10 to July 12.

The encounter, which pits Benin's Amazons U-17 against Nigeria's Flamingos U-17, is expected to be a fiercely contested West Zone B showdown, with both teams battling for a coveted spot at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Nigeria's Flamingos will be aiming to maintain their impressive record in the competition, while Benin will be hoping to spring a surprise and secure a historic qualification.
