Benue State Governor Sacks Dominic Iorfa As Lobi Stars Chairman

A former Nigerian international, Dominic Iorfa, has been sacked from his position as Chairman, Lobi Stars football club of Makurdi, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

 The state government on Saturday, 7th September, 2024  dissolved the management of Lobi Stars as the state led by the Deputy Governor and Dominic Iorfa as Chairman.

This is contained in a statement signed by Solomon Iorpev, Technical Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, the governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has directed that with immediate effect, the Lobi Stars be under Benue Sports Council.

Similarly, a new board of Lobi Stars has also been constituted with Dr. Philip Nongu as Chairman. 

Other members of the board are: Dr. Iorngulum Malu, who will serve as Secretary, Chief Solomon Andiir, Harry Yachi, Francis Ejiga and Sir James Iorpuu, representing the government. The governor has directed that all management handover must be completed before midnight today.

Lobi Stars will host Akwa United on Monday in Lafia, 9th September, 2024 in the Matchday 1 of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
