Precious Oham
The board of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL has officially cleared Super Eagles goalkeeper, Adewale Adeyinka of all allegations, lifting the ban imposed on him earlier, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
According to the league body, Adeyinka is now free to pursue new opportunities and register with any club of his choice while investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
Adeyinka, widely regarded as one of the most experienced shot-stoppers in the league, is now free to secure a move ahead of the 2025/26 NPFL season.
A statement by the league's Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi reads: "We wish to compliment you for honoring the invitation to attend the NPFL inquest on alleged betting involvement, and thank you for your cooperation.
"The information received from the inquest coupled with our investigative findings has necessitated further inquiry into this matter, and all those mentioned to be involved one way or the other in unravelling this matter will be invited as the investigation continues.
"However, for the benefit of fair hearing and not to put your career in jeopardy, the suspension placed on your registration in the NPFL has been lifted. You are free to register for any club of your choice. We thank you for your prompt response and cooperation."
