The Ghana women's national football team have arrived in the United Arab Emirates to begin their campaign in the Pink Ladies Cup, intensifying preparations for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The team touched down in Dubai earlier this week and is scheduled to commence training immediately as they fine-tune tactical approaches and build match fitness ahead of the four-nation tournament. The competition forms a central part of the technical team’s build-up strategy for WAFCON, which will be staged in Morocco.

Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has named a squad blending experienced campaigners with new call-ups, using the tournament as an opportunity to evaluate squad depth, tactical cohesion and individual performances against varied international opposition.

Ghana will open their Pink Ladies Cup campaign against Hong Kong women's national football team before facing Russia women's national football team and Tanzania women's national football team in subsequent fixtures. The matches are expected to provide valuable competitive minutes and allow the coaching staff to assess combinations and systems ahead of the continental showpiece.

Team officials view the tournament as a vital measure of readiness, fitness levels and on-field chemistry, as the Black Queens aim to make a strong statement on their return to Africa’s premier women’s football competition.
