Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, will travel to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup as part of their build-up to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Black Queens are scheduled to face Hong Kong, Russia and Tanzania in the invitational tournament, which will run from February 28 to March 6, 2026, offering the team a crucial platform to fine-tune tactics, assess player combinations and build match fitness ahead of major continental assignments.
The UAE tour forms a key part of Ghana’s broader preparation programme for both the WAFU B Women’s Championship and WAFCON 2026, as the technical crew intensifies efforts to assemble a competitive squad capable of challenging for honours on the continent.
Before the WAFCON tournament proper, the Black Queens will also compete in the WAFU B competition, where they are expected to face strong regional opposition, with a potential high-profile clash against Nigeria’s Super Falcons on the cards.
The Ghana Football Association views the international engagements as strategic exposure opportunities aimed at sharpening the team’s competitive edge and strengthening cohesion ahead of the demanding continental calendar.
