Rivers Angels head coach, Tosan Blankson, has called on the club's supporters to rally behind the Jewels of Rivers ahead of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, Super Six, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Rivers Angels Football Club will on Saturday lock horns with their perennial rivals, Bayelsa Queens, in Ikenne.
The Jewel of Rivers, who finished second in Group B in the regular season, will yet again face her South South rival in the second match of the Super Six.
Blankson, who emphasised the team's singular focus on bringing the trophy home to Port Harcourt, expressed confidence that his team is fully prepared to take on the Prosperity Girls in a match tagged the star match of match day 1.
"They should pray for the team and expect victory. They should be ready to receive the trophy from us in Port Harcourt.
"There is nothing new in the drawer. The six teams that are here are all potential champions, so whoever we play in our first or last match is the same.
"Playing Bayelsa Queens is not new. At least we have been playing them, and it's part of the game.
"We would still play them the way we played in the regular season. Definitely, the game will be tough, but the better side will win."
Blankson downplayed any perceived psychological advantage Bayelsa Queens might have over his team due to their previous results in the regular season.
The match against Bayelsa Queens kicks off at 11am on Saturday.
