Boboye, Akwa United’s Suleiman Bag League Bloggers NPFL Award

The duo of Sunshine Stars head coach Kennedy Boboye and Akwa United forward Sani Suleiman, have both emerged as the winners of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Manager and Player of the Month LBAs for May/June 2024, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Boboye had impressive performances that saw Sunshine Stars go on a 5-game unbeaten streak from May to June, which was enough to save the team from relegation.

Having also gotten two of his four wins in the period, away from home – vs Doma and Gombe United – Boboye stood tall above competitors Meremu Okara, Majin Mohammed and title-winning coach Fidelis Ilechukwu.

Meanwhile, Akwa United’s Suleiman has emerged winner of the player category, picking up his second honour – after having won the March edition – for his five-goal haul in his last six games.

Suleiman had scored five goals in the month under review, including a brace that helped his side to an away win over Lobi Stars and another brace in the home win over Katsina United. He ends the NPFL season as the only player to have won two LBA POTM.
