By Admin
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has pledged support for a young Nigerian footballer, Grace Boy, who is seeking financial assistance to complete his rehabilitation following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Grace Boy appealed publicly to Boniface on Friday via social media platform X, explaining that although he underwent ACL surgery in Nigeria, he has been unable to afford the physiotherapy and follow-up care required to fully recover and return to competitive football.
In his message, the player highlighted the challenges of accessing adequate post-surgery treatment and requested assistance to fund further rehabilitation sessions.
Boniface responded to the appeal by acknowledging the difficulties faced by young footballers in Nigeria and revealing that he has been offering support to players behind the scenes for some time.
“It’s not easy for young Nigerian players. I know how many players I have helped without people knowing. We will try to help you,” the 24-year-old wrote.
Grace Boy also wished Boniface a speedy recovery, with the Bayer Leverkusen forward currently sidelined by injury.
Boniface, who joined the German club from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023, has since established himself as one of Nigeria’s most prominent footballers in Europe.
