Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has completed his return to Bayer Leverkusen after the expiration of his loan spell at Werder Bremen, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 24-year-old striker endured a challenging period in Bremen, failing to find the net in 11 Bundesliga appearances.

His time at the club was plagued by recurring knee issues and fitness concerns, which restricted him largely to substitute roles.

Despite the difficulties, Boniface expressed gratitude for the experience in a post on his official X account.

“Wow. Crazy season for me, a lot has happened,” he wrote.

“Just want to say thank you very much to fans and staff and players.”

Boniface will now rejoin Bayer Leverkusen’s squad as the club prepares for the upcoming 2026/27 season, with the Nigerian international expected to fight for a place in Xabi Alonso’s attacking lineup and rediscover the prolific form that first earned him a move to the BayArena.
