Nigeria international Victor Boniface will not be joining AC Milan this summer after failing medical tests, despite an agreement being reached between the Italian club and Bayer Leverkusen, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Sunday that the 23-year-old striker, who had traveled to Milan to finalize the move, was unable to complete the switch after two days of medical assessments.

“AC Milan call Victor Boniface deal off as Nigerian striker did not pass the medical tests,” Romano wrote on X. He added that the clubs had reached a verbal agreement involving a €5 million loan fee with a €24 million buy option, but the deal was terminated following the failed tests.

Boniface has since returned to Germany, effectively ending the prospect of a move. Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes confirmed that Milan’s interest was over once the forward returned to the Bundesliga side.

“If Boniface comes back to Leverkusen, the AC Milan deal will be over. That’s no big secret,” Rolfes told BILD. Asked about the possibility of fresh negotiations, he added: “I don’t think that will happen. His physical situation has improved compared to the beginning.”

With the deal collapsed, AC Milan have reportedly turned their attention to Sporting CP forward Conrad Harder as an alternative option.
