Coach Ladan Bosso has promÂised to continually work on the recently crowned West African champions, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria, ahead of the CAF U20 Cup of Nations slated for Egypt from February 18, 2023.
The coach who spoke to our correspondent after the team’s arrival from Niger Republic where they defeated their counÂterparts from Benin Republic on the final to emerge sub-reÂgional champions, expressed the hope that the team would keep improving before the curÂtain is raised for the AFCON in February 2023.
“I thank God first for this victory because we yearned for it and He alone gave it to us.
“I also thank the players who showed readiness to make history and also the NFF and all Nigerians who supported us all the way.
“We will keep improving this team and work on all arÂeas we need to work on before the AFCON because going to Egypt, we also hope to qualify for the World Cup from there.
“So you can see that we still have so much to play for and so much work to do; so there is the need to keep working on this team to make it much betÂter before we travel to Egypt,†he said.
Meanwhile, in the WAFU tournament, the Flying Eagles came through a group that had Ghana and Burkina Faso, beatÂing the Black Starlets 2-0 before playing a 2-2 draw against the Young Stallions.
