Head coach of the Nigeria U20 side, the Flying Eagles, Ladan Bosso has shifted his focus on bringing the trophy home after qualifying for the semi-finals and booking a spot at the forthcoming U-20 FIFA World Cup in Indonesia, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Bosso maintained that his boys are capable of winning for Nigeria for the eighth time.

Ladan Bosso's men made it to the last four after defeating the Hippos of Uganda 1-0 at the ongoing U-20 AFCON in Egypt on Thursday night through first half own goal by Uganda Juma in the 30th minute.

While speaking after the match, the head coach of the seven time African champions urged Nigerians to continue to pray and support saying the team knows what's at stake.

"We are being sponsored by the federal government of Nigeria, through the football federation and we believe that in as much as it is so much has been spent on us to prepare us for camping and the training. I think it has now become the right of Nigerians to expect the best from us.

"The boys have maintained that they are out for business, now that we have picked the World Cup ticket, the next thing is to ensure that we qualify for the final and hopefully we can go back home to Nigeria with the trophy.

"Just as I said in this match, the most important thing for us is to seek the cooperation of Nigerians, their commitments to follow up with their prayers and support. I think this is a team that can go places," Bosso said when asked his message to Nigerians at home.

Having qualified for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup which will be held from 7th to 20th May in Indonesia, Bosso's focus is sealing a place in the finals and will now await the winner between Gambia and South Africa on Friday.
