Bosso Targets U20 FIFA World Cup Title

Flying Eagles Head Coach, Ladan Bosso has said his boys are good enough to become the best African team by winning the the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup title in Argentina, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Bosso who targeted surpassing the two times second-placed finish by Nigeria reiterated that he has a team capable of winning the title for the first time for Nigeria.

Bosso made this known to BSN Sports in an exclusive interview a day before they left Nigeria for Argentina.

He said, "we need to take the game as it comes. We are focused on winning the first two games against Dominican Republic and Italy and when we proceed to knockout stage, then we map out our playing pattern based on the opponents.

He added, "the aim is to surpass Nigeria record of playing in the final two times by going ahead and win the title. We have a team that will make Africa proud." He concluded.

Nigeria are in group D with Dominican Republic, Italy and Brazil and will start their campaign with Dominican Republic on Sunday, 21st May 2023.

The 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup kicks off today with Guatemala U-20 taking on New Zealand U-20 at 19:00 in the tournament opener while USA lock horns with Ecuador. The hosts, Argentina face Uzbekistan in Match-day 1 last game.
